Thalheim/Wolfen, 8 December 2006 - The Supervisory Board of Q-Cells AG appointed Dr. Florian Holzapfel as Deputy Executive Board Member for the Technology division at its session yesterday. Dr. Holzapfel succeeds Reiner Lemoine, who resigned for health reasons a few weeks ago. Dr. Holzapfel, who was previously Managing Director of Technology, had already assumed provisional leadership of the Technology division in Mr. Lemoine’s absence. Under Dr. Holzapfel’s management, Q-Cells AG has been continuing with the projects started by Mr. Lemoine and expanding the Technology division.
Dr. Holzapfel studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and acquired an MBA in the USA. He then spent several years as a consultant at McKinsey, where his areas of specialization included companies in the high-tech sector. During this time, Dr. Holzapfel earned his doctorate in the field of industrial engineering at Martin Luther University in Halle/Wittenberg.
Starting in 2005, Dr. Holzapfel headed a team of consultants advising Q-Cells AG in the areas of production and technology. He then switched to Q-Cells, where he assumed responsibility for the Technology division as Managing Director.
