Thalheim/Wolfen, 26 October 2006 - Q-Cells AG, located in Thalheim/Wolfen (Saxony-Anhalt), has taken first place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Germany. The rankings are based on cumulative sales growth ratios for the past five years (2001-2005). QCells AG achieved growth of 33,019 percent during this period.
Anton Milner, CEO of Q-Cells AG, sees the growth rate of 33,019 percent over the past five years as a particularly good sign: “Technology is the key to fulfilling our dream: to make photovoltaics available to mankind as an inexpensive energy source”, Milner said on the occasion of the awards ceremony. “Our own expertise in Research and Development is augmented by close cooperation with universities and institutes.”
Dieter Schlereth, managing partner of Deloitte’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications division, says "Our Technology Fast 50 award is intended to distinguish companies and entrepreneurs that combine initiative, innovativeness and a willingness to take risks with expert knowledge. One of the key ratios we look at is the cumulative sales growth of these companies in percentage terms. In addition, sales revenues must have reached at least EUR 50,000 in 2001 and EUR 1,000,000 in 2004.”
