Bitterfeld-Wolfen, 5 May 2010: Q-Cells SE is pursuing the announcements released at its press conference on financial statements in March of this year, and will in future be expanding its sales activities in Italy too. This will mean an increase in staff for its branch office in Rome, which will allow Q-Cells to adopt a more targeted strategy towards the needs of the Italian market. Apart from system selling to utilities, which has so far been pursued in Italy, the focus will be placed on market placement of cell and module products. This will enable new target groups, such as plumbing engineers and wholesalers as well as local authorities and commercial customers to be approached.
The photovoltaics company will not only be presenting its expanded Italian sales and service team at the Solar Expo in Verona, but will also be exhibiting its initial new products as a result of its extended business model. The product portfolio will be continually expanded during the course of the year, and will in future also entail an innovative product range comprising solar cells, crystalline modules and thin-film modules, as well as solar systems for larger roof and ground areas. As such, Q-Cells will be strictly pursuing the transformation from being a manufacturer of solar cells to a provider of photovoltaic solutions.
The Solar Expo in Verona marks the beginning of the leading European trade fairs in this sector. Q-Cells will continually be presenting its latest products and new services at the following fairs – Intersolar in Munich, Salon des Energies Renouvables in Paris, as well as the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (PVSEC) in Valencia, Spain.
